Junge AG invites to summer school

Summer school of the Junge AG on July 13 and 14, 2024 at the MPA Garching

With the summer school, the German Astronomical Society (Astronomische Gesellschaft, AG) would like to promote the next generation and the exchange of ideas between its young members and present the various locations of astronomical research in Germany. "We are delighted to welcome this year's summer school of the Junge AG at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching," says Prof. Dr. Volker Springel, Vice President of the AG and host of the summer school.

The program includes a get-together on Friday, July 12, the presentation of the MPA, hands-on sessions on local research topics, job talks on Saturday, July 13, as well as the Junge AG colloquium on Sunday, July 14, and a visit to the ESO Visitor Center.

There is no registration fee. Students, PhD students and early postdocs in astrophysics are invited. For this purpose, the AG can reimburse the costs for up to 30 young AG members in justified cases. This includes travel by train and local transport as well as accommodation, taking into account economic viability.
