Junge AG invites to summer school
With the newly established format of the summer school, the German Astronomical Society (Astronomische Gesellschaft, AG) would like to promote the next generation and the exchange of its young members. The plan is for these to take place regularly in the future at the various sites of astronomical research in Germany. "We are pleased that the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn is hosting the first AG summer school," says Dr. Markus Hundertmark, initiator and organizer of the summer school.
Students, PhD students and early postdocs in astrophysics are invited. For this purpose, the German Astronomical Society will cover the costs for up to 30 young AG members. This includes travel by train and local transportation, overnight accommodations, as well as meals. Applications for membership are available at https://www.astronomische-gesellschaft.de/en/member and the receipt of the membership application will entitle to register. The program includes an excursion to the Effelsberg radio telescope, lectures on various topics, and the first colloquium of the Junge AG lecture series in presence. Proof of vaccination is required for participation. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
