Logo of the working group
The logo of the working group is described (in German) in the Mitteilungen zur Astronomiegeschichte Nr. 1, Dezember 1992, page 2:
Translation:".... this Logo, two letters "A" with a telescope tube, is derived from the German name of the working group (Arbeitskreis Astronomiegeschichte) and the mounting of Herschel's big reflectors. (s. picture).
It symbolizes the peering into the universe and also into history. The recollection of Wilhelm (Wiliam) Herschel, who, as a German, lived and worked in England, points to the international spirit of Astronomy, the Astronomische Gesellschaft, and the Working Group for the History of Astronomy
Design of the Logo: Anton Dick following an idea of W. R. Dick"
