Venue

The event will take place at the conference center of the Albert Einstein Science Park on the Telegrafenberg in Potsdam.
For 140 years, research facilities have been located here, providing an inspiration for the whole world. This is where the world's first astrophysical observatory was built, where scientific geodesy and the systematic measurement of the Earth's magnetic field originated, and where one of the birthplaces of German meteorology is located.
The historic and modern buildings of the Albert Einstein Science Park are located in the middle of this large forest park. Today, the Alfred Wegener Institute (The Potsdam Research Center for Polar and Marine Research), the Astrophysical Institute Potsdam (AIP), the Geo Research Center Potsdam (GFZ), the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research (PIK) and the Potsdam Metereological Institute of the German Meteorological Service (DWD) are part of this traditional complex.
The mountain was given its name back in 1832 when an optical telegraph station (pointer telegraph) was built here on the Berlin-Koblenz line. The world's first astrophysical research institute was founded here in the 1870s. Among the most outstanding buildings are the Great Refractor (1899) and the famous Einstein Tower from 1921/23 by architect Erich Mendelsohn.
